Yeah I know this sounds like a pretty stupid thing to do, but there are a lot of thing that are different with the Ega and Vga version. But comparing two versions of the same game has been done before, and I foung it intresting. Now I bet you think that the Vga version is a lot better than the Ega due to it's better graphics and sound. But there are a lot of things in the story line that were only in the Ega version.

• The game doesn't get affected by the Pentium system at all.
• The game is just about bug-less
• You can use the Alt- D cheat with it
• You can edit/make games with the data from the Ega version.
• The ega version has more Easter eggs, like "take leak" or "look at writing"
• The game is more challenging in the Acarda/Deltaur sequences. Ex: The guards are quicker, come more often and there are fewer warnings. Actually this might be a down, depends what you think.
• There are more points(one actually) which are more entertaining to receive.

• The graphics aren't the best they can be.
• The Music really doesn't get you in the mood of the game.
• It's easier to get stuck in the game than the Vga version.
• When on Deltaur, if you try showing your I.D. Card three times, you'll get killed by the robot.
• The game has a lot of really "old" stuff. Most was really enhanced in the Vga version. Ex: the music players in the bar, one of them are replaced with Madonna singing.
• There is almost no talking in the Ega version, besides the time you leave the airlock without your suit and when you are in Ulences Flats.

  On the Up Side of Sq I VGA
• Of Course the graphics are way better in the Vga Version, and are way more detailed.
• Now you just can't beat that 50's B music in the game. Well then again,the Ega PC Speaker is no challange.
• The aninations are a big plus, Roger does some pretty funny things. But thisd goes to a point, I'm also counting this as a negative, you'll see.

  On the Down Side of Sq I VGA
• The animations become kind of annoying on Kerona because the Spider-Droid is chasing you. For example tripping,taking the plant and drink your water.
• When at the bar,try to give your water to the bartender, you'll see a spelling error.
• Also note that the Vga version has some BUGS in the Deltaur area, Some which are noticible, almost impossible. Note that I found them all in the Space Quest collecton, so are most likely in earier versions of the game. They may not exist on all computers, just certain ones.
• An Immediate one that you might notice is trying to get the second gas bomb and are showing your card the robot will start say that he is going to kill you, even though you are not doing anything that should result in death. If you do this enough he will kill you.
• When you no longer have a helmet or are still in the space suit, try talking to the guards. You'll see that roger will have a helmet during the talking. What they could done was had the guards say something threating.
• When still in your Xenon Space Suit on a Pentium ( or any other computer that goes fast with this game) try just walking around the ship to the Star Generator room. You will instantly have a Sarien battle suit on without a helmet and a gun. If they can't afford a death in the blue suit, why must they have Roger tripping all the time on Kerona?
• Try just walking out of the first room on Deltaur in the blue suit again and get shot, when you die your death picture will show you in the sarien battle suit (and I don't mean when your droid asks you to bail out from detaur and you see Roger in a suit walking away, that's on purpose).
• When you have a gun, try shooting at that energy thing until you see Deltaur blowing up. While it's blowing up you'll be able to have use to see and when you do, it says stuff that doesn't make sense with the sequence at all.

  That's all the bugs I have found out right now. Please don't start saying that the bugs aren't occuring (that's a good thing anyway)or your game got messed up. Also E-mail me if you know any other bugs for any of the Space Quest game.
